LIM

Lim, aka Limonadov, aka Walter Limo, aka Master Li, is an artist based in LA. When he arrived in America from Siberia a few years ago, he sold his sword and wolf fur coat and bought a car and a tattoo machine to start creating art. Born and raised in a rough neighborhood called Kozhzavod (Leather Factory), Lim started tattooing in 2000 with a homemade machine crafted from a spoon, a motor, and a guitar string. However, when members of the local mafia began booking sessions, he lost interest and burned the machine. He returned to tattooing only when the art form became mainstream and stopped being associated exclusively with ex-cons—about seven years ago. In those areas, by the age of 14, people had already quit drinking and smoking and started working. His work paid off, earning him two educations: one in programming and electronics and another in fine art. That’s when everything took off. Lim became a participant in numerous exhibitions, painted oil canvases. His paintings were exhibited at Art Miami 2024 and Palm Beach 2024, with several pieces sold. He has also sold works at the leading art auction in Russia. In tattooing, Lim specializes in realism, micro-realism, woodcut-style, illustration, fine-lines and is now exploring abstraction. He constantly experiments with his craft, pushing its boundaries.
